Review: Barbeque evenings at The Leela, Mumbai.

Balmy winter evenings are perfect for indulgences....like a barbeque. 6 Degrees, the cosmopolitan bar at The Leela, Mumbai recently introduced barbeque evenings & we felt this was a great way to dine under the stars!!! A beginning of beautiful winters marked an occasion of a double celebration as my close friend & confidante- Dipika was down for a quick visit from Singapore. I headed to The Leela Mumbai to enjoy a wonderful evening in great company dining on delicious grills while sipping on my favorite tipple. A heady combination for a fun filled time...what say?

6 Degrees is located at the lush poolside terrace of The Leela, Mumbai making it a perfect setting for a barbeque indulgence. We walked into a beautiful setting with tables arranged around the poolside terrace. Spacious tables glowed with iridescent lamps & smiling guests moved around enjoying the crisp winter air. Chefs were busy at an outdoor barbeque station grilling select cuts of meat, juicy seafood & seasonal vegetables.

We settled down with a tipple of choice- Green apple martini for me & a crisp Rose wine for Dipika. As we sat sipping on our drinks, delicious aromas wafted from the barbeque station & we could not wait to try some delicacies.

We started with some fresh salads from the salad counter placed near the barbeque station & skipped soup (who would eat all the amazing grills?). Warm & fresh breads were devoured next with dips- fresh & well made hummus & baba ganoush.

We eagerly awaited the grills as we sipped on our cocktails. Guests can choose the choice of sauce & for the sides opt for grilled seasonal vegetables like broccoli, asparagus, zucchini, cottage cheese steak or Cajun spiced potato wedges. The seafood platter arrived & looked divine!!! Tempting us was delicious Norwegian salmon steak, tiger prawns, marinated black promfret & marinated calamari!! Fresh, juicy prawns were finished in no time & so was the marinated promfret. The salmon was well done & flaky with a flavorsome lemon & caper sauce.

Next, we tried the meat platter & paired it with B.B.Q sauce-thyme mustard marinated chicken breast (juicy, tender & perfectly done), lamb steak (a generous portion of well done steak) and

delicious B.B.Q Pork Ribs & pork sausages with mustard.

It was time for desserts!!! We enjoyed some delicious selection of pastries & loved the chocolate brownie & red velvet cheesecake.

Priced at INR 3250/- per person, the Barbeque indulgence at The Leela Mumbai is a great way to unwind & relax under the stars. Enjoy select grills with hearty salads & warm breads full of flavors on your table, what else could one ask for?
