Sabudana Potato Chakli Recipe A Homemade Summer Special Treat

The unrelenting summer sun apart from mangoes brings along other memories. Terraces lined with rows & rows of delicious chips & chaklis drying under the sun. Till date, the sun-dried sabudana potato chakli are my favorite. These sabudana potato chaklis are homemade with easily available ingredients. Tasty & free from preservatives, they can be fried in any oil of your choice. Besides, they are ready to be served in no time & great during binge watching your favorite series.

Usually a lot of people head to their favorite stores to buy sabudana batata (potato) chakli. If you are looking to buy sabudana potato chakli online, it is easily available. However, the current Covid-19 situation has changed everything. But, why miss out on good things in life when you can make your own? 

Here is an easy recipe to make sabudana potato chakli at home:

Sabudana potato chakli homemade a summer special treat

Ingredients:
  • 750 gms potato boiled
  • 250 gms sabudana (sago) soaked overnight
  • Red chili powder as per taste
  • Salt as per taste
  • Or Sendha namak as per taste if consumed during fasting season


 Method:
  1. Peel boiled potatoes & mash them lightly.
  2. Next, mix together mashed potatoes, sabudana, red chili powder & salt. Furthermore, use sendha namak if you will be consuming this during fasting.
  3. Grease your palms with a little oil & take small portions of the mixture. Further, put the mixture in a chakli maker
  4. Spread a thick plastic sheet in your balcony/terrace or any flat surface that attracts sunlight.
  5. Make chaklis with the mix. However, you may not get roundels with this mix.
  6. Sun dry for 2-3 days
  7. Also, check for any remaining moisture before storing in a clean container
  8. Finally, deep fry on medium flame till crisp before serving
