Ragi Recipes- Healthy Ragi & Chia Seeds Pancakes With Cinnamon Honey

We all know that, millets are a powerhouse of nutrients with countless health benefits. We use chia seeds instead of eggs to make these yummy pancakes. However, if you want gluten free Ragi pancake recipe or are looking for ragi pancakes with egg, add one egg instead of whole wheat flour.

Ingredients:  

Makes about 6 pancakes
  • 1/2 cup Ragi Flour
  • 1/2 cup whole wheat flour
  • 1 Mashed ripe banana 
  • 1 tablespoon Chia seeds, soaked in little water
  • Ghee to cook pancakes
  • Honey to drizzle
  • Pinch of cinnamon powder

Method:
  1. Firstly, combine ragi flour, whole wheat flour, mashed ripe banana, soaked chia seeds & salt with water to make a pouring consistency batter. I used Kerala banana also known as Ethappazham/Nendran banana & the results were great. Also, these bananas can be made into delicious fritters, recipe here
  2. Let the batter rest for 10-15 minutes. Meanwhile, add cinnamon powder to honey & mix.
  3. Heat an Iron tawa, grease with ghee. Once heated, pour a ladle full of batter to make round pancakes.
  4. Cook both sides on medium heat. Add ghee to flip the pancakes easily.
  5. Make pancakes with the renaming batter.
  6. Serve hot, drizzled with cinnamon honey.
