Review: Share your love of Good Food with Indigo Deli's newly launched, Deli Community Menu.

"Conversations are better with soup and there is no stress where there are desserts" someone chimed. We all nodded. It was a monday evening. A community of food lovers had braved monday blues and descended at Indigo Deli in Bandra West to sample the "Deli Community Menu". Loud banter, multiple camera clicks, laughter and good times, Yus! it was all happening here.

The menu on the table announced five courses and a choice of beverage pitcher. I glanced at the choices available and noticed that each course had enough variety to please even the pickiest eater. We tried the Virgin Sangria but it was not up to our liking. The server suggested Virgin Watermelon and Basil Mojito- muddled fresh watermelon pieces and distinct flavor of basil made this our favorite.

Citrus lovers do try the virgin orange and sweet lime mojito too.

Next came the creamy potato with chives and variety of breads. Add bacon to the soup and voila please a non veg lover. We did :) The salads were a little underdressed but from the variety served we loved the citrus salad. Add bacon or chicken to spruce up the protein quotient. Word of advice- go easy on salads or you will be too full to enjoy the main course.

The salads- a bit underdressed but a healthy option!

The thin crust pizza at Indigo Deli are a delight. We tried mushroom and spinach (the healthiest of the lot), Spanish Chorizo and Barbecue Chicken and cheddar variants. Our favorite was the BBQ chicken pizza with succulent chicken pieces, was devoured in no time :)

The Mushroom & Spinach Version for Veg Lovers.

Almost full but willing to try more we settled with Grilled Chicken with red wine jus served with grilled vegetables and mashed potatoes. Gooey mash and colorful veggies went perfect with perfectly grilled chicken. The beauty of the community menu is that components of a few dishes are served separately so one can decide to take a bigger portion of veggies to go with that grilled chicken. Our next favorite was the Braised Fennel Risotto infused with saffron.

The Risotto- our favorite!
The Onion Seed crusted Norwegian Salmon is served with buttered beans, fenugreek pilaf and chili oil (all separately). We found a tad too many Onion seeds but the salmon was fresh and juicy.

The Norwegian Salmon!
Pasta lovers can choose between Fusilli in pesto cream or Farfalle with three mushroom ragout, we tried a spoon of each and liked them both.

Desserts at Indigo Deli are our favorite. Chocolate Ganache, Blueberry Cheesecake and the Home-made icecreams are our pick. We chose the Blueberry and mint and Strawberry Cheesecake ice creams. Both flavours delighted us but we suggest do not leave without trying the Strawberry Cheesecake ice cream.
