Campari Soda Cocktail Recipe

Campari Soda more popularly known as Americano is a classic cocktail and delightful apertif (before dinner drink) introducing you to the unusual and bitter taste of Campari. The recipe by itself is very simple and all you need to do is pour equal parts of Campari and Vermouth over ice into a glass and top the mixture with a splash of soda. Once your palate adapts to the taste of Campari, this cocktail will definitely become a favorite with its refreshing bitter-sweet taste.

Originally named Milano-Torino (based on the origins of its two primary ingredients - Campari and Vermouth) when it was first invented in the 1860s in Milan (Italy), it was later renamed to Americano because of its popularity among American tourists at the turn of the 20th century. In popular culture it was the first cocktail ordered by James Bond in Ian Fleming's first bond novel - Casino Royale.
