Recipe of Happiness: Chocolate Cake Milkshake Shooters

My phone chimed and flashed the name of my favorite niece- Rashi on the screen. I picked up the phone and Rashi blurted excitedly that she would be visiting me soon for a few days. Overjoyed we starting making plans of visiting her favorite places and I hanged up mentally making notes of picking up a few things to make her comfortable. At 12, Rashi was a hyperactive girl child with boundless energy and fussy eating habits. Often my sister and I had long conversations about supplementing her diet with nutritious food that provides good health and awesome taste. I reached the supermarket and started the browsing shelves in search of tasty but nutritious food products- cereals, roasted snacks for evening hunger pangs and more and then realized- I should pick up some milk too. Growing children, specially the ones in their pre-teens should intake milk to meet their dietary need of calcium apart from other calcium rich food.

I browsed the shelves and came across Mother Dairy- Toned Milk packs. Now, I had heard a lot about the quality products made by Mother Dairy since 1974 from Ma and as a added bonus, the packs announced a price drop of Rs 2/- and from Rs 38/- to Rs 36/- per liter. Yay!! I picked up two packs my resolve now even stronger to make a fabulous dessert with milk- that looks gorgeous too...just like this....

My Top 10 European Cities to Visit with KLM.

The world is a book and those who don’t travel, have just read a page. And I love reading travel books. Since childhood when girls my age played with dolls, I dreamt of travelling the world- breakfast in a bakery at Vienna; visit the grand churches at Prague and relish seafood at any of the restaurants at Central Europe. Only if dreams could come true.

So when KLM announced their #LetsGoDutch campaign to help people achieve their travel dreams by Going Dutch with them on different travel expenses, I was super excited!!! Just take a look at the video and you will be too:

If KLM, one of the oldest airlines helps me realize my travel dreams, I will travel the world, especially Europe. Sounds like a dream, doesn’t it? So here is a sneak peak into my travel fantasy…

4 Things Every Old Monk Lover Must Do

Recently a friend of ours gifted us the 12 year matured Old Monk Gold Reserve Rum and boy did that make us nostalgic?

For those of you who are not familiar with this drink here are some facts courtesy Wikipedia:
Old Monk commonly known as 'OMR' is an iconic vatted Indian dark rum, launched in 19th December 1954.It is blended and aged for a minimum of 7 years. It is a dark rum with a distinct vanilla flavour, with an alcohol content of 40%.

It is sold in six size variants: 90 ml, 180 ml, 375 ml, 500ml, 750 ml, and 1 litre bottles. Old Monk had been awarded gold medals at Monde World Selections since 1982.

While the 7 years aged XXX rum grade is the most popular, there are Supreme & Gold  aged for 12 years and are blended with highly matured spirits. Supreme also comes in a special bottle, with the shape of a standing monk. The top part of the monk's head is the bottle cap, which also doubles up as a peg measure.

Having heard rumors on the much loved Old Monk set to hang its boots, we decided to walk down memory lane and talked on how OMR was always around growing up, in good times and bad times like a true friend.

Well it is heartening to know that the good old OMR will stay around but it is definitely time to rejoice our wonderful times with this iconic drink by starting all over again:)

Swiggy Food Delivery App comes to Mumbai

My stomach growled in protest of my silence. It was Monday, my first day at a new workplace- a fast paced IT company. After the initial orientation with the human resource division, I was invited to see my new desk close to the lunchtime. My cubicle boasted of a shiny new laptop, phone, personalized bookshelf and a beanbag. But the usual chatter of my colleagues, especially during lunch, was missing. I was excited and a bit nervous. New beginnings always come with mixed feelings. At my earlier workplace, the lunch hour was reserved for bonding over scrumptious food. I loved trying new places and was popular due to my food choices. But this was a new place; I still had to make friends.

I took a swig of water to calm my hunger pangs and remembered something. Last week, while talking about food (yes, my favorite topic) a friend had mentioned a new food delivery app- Swiggy. He was visiting me from Bengaluru and had used the app to order some delicious meals during the lunch hour. Oh, how he boasted that he was the most popular guy at his office that week:) I had overheard some chatter on social media too about Swiggy that had spiked my interest…they had announced the entry in Mumbai by offering our favorite food – Vada pav at just Rupee 1…wow!!!! Now that’s a royal treat for a true Mumbaikar,

Review: MoMo Café at Courtyard by Marriott, Gurgaon

Sunday afternoons are always full of fun family times, especially reserved for my 4-year-old princess-Saanvi and wife-Neha. We look forward to spending the day in style. One such Sunday, we decided to take it a notch higher. Style, luxury, chic, modern, and elegance are synonymous with Marriott; and that was where we decided to go. I had heard a lot about the 4-course Sunday brunch at Courtyard by Marriott, Gurgaon from a couple of foodie friends and decided to try it.

For late risers like me, MoMo Café arranges a brunch buffet every Sunday, which starts at 12.30 PM and goes on till 4 PM. Note that the name of the café is a bit misleading. I had earlier thought that it would be an oriental specialty café, but later I got to know that MoMo was short for Modern Living Modern Dining and was actually a multi-cuisine café.

Located at ground floor, the bright sign of MoMo Café is hard to be missed. Modern interiors adorn the plush lobby and the calm and soothing environment has a unique aura.

#AbHarWishHogiPoori with Flipkart

I love family reunions. There is nothing more fun than bringing your loved ones, who now stay afar, together under one roof. Old photo albums are dusted and passed around bringing afore bittersweet memories, conversations turn to gossip, there is banter in every corner and the evening ends with a promise to meet soon. I love these moments spent with my parents and siblings, who I rarely visit since marital responsibilities take up a lot of time. A camera chosen by Shubham, made me think about the beautiful moments we create when we get together and how I need to make the evening extra special for my dad who loves to cook. Yes, a family reunion was around the corner and I realized that dad, who has relentlessly given up many dreams, so that we could fulfill ours, should be made the star of the evening, as it was his birthday soon. Even in childhood he was always in a good mood whenever he cooked for us. One day, when I was a teenager he sat me down and told me “Always pursue your dreams, even if no one understands you at first”. That day, he also revealed to me that he wanted to start his own restaurant but family responsibilities forced him to take up a regular job. No wonder, I thought, he’s always happy when he cooks. Ma had to drive him out of the kitchen sometimes and I remember eating more meals made by my dad than mom.
