Restore and Rejuvenate at the Ramada Caravela Resort in South Goa
The day was off to a promising start. The Janshatabdi
Express chugged away from Dadar station dot on time, holding a promise of a
magical time in Goa. This was the second
time I was visiting Goa in the monsoons. We chose to travel by train one-way to
spot waterfalls rushing to meet the green landscape- a sight that converts
itself to a memory and resides with you forever.
Here is why you should do it
too:
Monsoon Magic In Goa |
The trip from Madgaon station to our resort- Ramada Caravela
was quick, hassle-free and mixed with easy banter. Located on the white sands
of Varca Beach, the resort boasts of 199 rooms (standard, superior, deluxe and
Villas) spread over 24 acres, a well maintained golf course, spa, outdoor pool,
Children Play area, Coffee Shop, Restaurants, Beach shack (seasonal), Sunset
Bar (seasonal), swim up bar in the pool and a poolside eatery (seasonal, yet
again), Convention Centre and a CASINO.
Resort Entry |
The entire landscape was bathed in green and the people were
enjoying an easy afternoon. A pleasant
hostess greeted us and a cold towel along with a refreshing welcome drink was
handed to us- thoughtful! Efficiency in handling check-in formalities is very
important to me and those were done in 10 minutes flat- brownie points to the
staff.
My wandering eyes took in the majestic atrium lobby, the influence of
Portuguese architecture and the Mario Miranda mural lending a Goan character to
the reception.
The Mario Miranda Mural |
We checked into our Superior room, with a private balcony
and soaked in the well-manicured green expanse and the ocean beyond. The two nights passed in a jiffy but here is what we loved best.
Top Things we absolutely
loved about Ramada Caravela:
You See Green, Wherever You Look
Green, Green Everywhere |
The Ocean Facing Rooms
The Swim-up Island Bar and the Pool
Swim, Swim Baby! |
The In-house Spa
Rejuvenate as an expert indulges you in customised therapies.
The Spa Entrance |
Indoors and Outdoors Sports
Play Golf, try a few games indoors or challenge someone to a game of Volleyball.
Your Private Space to watch Goa Sunset
Watch as the Sun Sets holding an unspoken promise |
We returned to Mumbai on my favorite #6E flight by Indigo Airlines, which landed on time as always- a perfect end to my fairytale monsoon visit to Goa!
