A Quick Getaway to Madhubhan Resort in Anand, Gujarat

Take vacations. Plan getaways. Travel. You can always make money. You can't always make memories. But how? So many destinations to travel and so little time. And what about planning something that can be enjoyed in a pocket friendly budget? If these questions are constantly hinder your travel plans, a quick getaway is the answer. Our quick Mumbai-Saputara road trip and a getaway to Soma Vine Village encouraged us to make similar plans that would help us quench our wanderlust without too much of research- booking air tickets, planning exhaustive itineraries, connecting flights and more. September is a beautiful time to plan travel in and around Mumbai as incessant rains make way for subdued sunshine and resorts welcome travelers with attractive tariffs. Making a most of it, we planned a quick getaway to Madhubhan resort and spa located at Anand in Gujarat and here is how you can plan one too.

A luxury resort and spa set amidst the picturesque green belt of Charotar region and on the outskirts of Anand, Madhubhan resort offers luxurious accommodation and facilities spread across 20 acres of space.

We chose to stay two nights in one of the spacious cottages named "Mandavdi Gom" that offered a delightful Gujarati living experience with teak wood furnishing, walk-in wardrobe, sunken bathtub with a private garden and sit out area that overlooked manicured lawns. The other accommodation options include deluxe rooms (without a sit out area), spacious cottages, deluxe suites, an elegantly decorated bridal suite and a two bedroom presidential suite.

We reached Madhubhan in time for the check-in and decided to have lunch at Kouzina an Italian and Mediterranean Bistro that serves tempting pastas, lasagnas, pizzas, raviolis and more. We ordered a sumptuous spaghetti aglio olio and butter garlic mushrooms along with chilled ice teas. The food was delicious and served on time in a pleasant ambience, just what you need after your trip.

After a quick snooze, we decided to indulge in a high tea experience at Chai Bar that serves piping hot tea along with different varieties of pakodas from 4 pm till 6 pm everyday.

After a quick swim in the infinity pool, we enjoyed dinner at Tapas, the Mexican bar that serves delicious Mexican fare. We tried loaded nachos, Mexican rice, a healthy bowl of salad along with fresh passion fruit juice.

Next day, the breakfast was an elaborate affair with a delicious spread. Enjoy a healthy start with vegetable juice, soaked almonds, fresh cut fruits, porridge, varieties of cheese and bread, live counters that served South Indian delicacies, eggs and more. For lunch we tried Banyan Tree restaurant that serves world cuisine along with Avadhi, Hyderabadi, Rajasthani and Gujarati cuisine.

The Spa and naturopathy centre was next on our list and we indulged in Madhubhan signature massage with aroma oils. A soothing 60 minute experience, the massage left us rejuvenated and relaxed. The evening passed at a serene pace as we walked around the green expanse of the resort. For dinner we tried the in room dining service from the menu that featured options from the various in house restaurants.

Located amidst serenity, Madhubhan resort and spa is a great choice for a quick getaway from Mumbai, Ahmedabad and Delhi.  Other facilities at the resort include a signature salon, game room, kids zone and two swimming pools.
