Loaded Sweet Potato Fries

We were almost drooling all over the screen, when we wrote our previous blog that covered different types of french fries.

Someone asked us what's better than uniformly cut, perfectly fried potato chips dusted with fine salt?

Wait till you try these yummy and easy to make loaded sweet potato chips. A little sweet on the inside and crisp on the outside, one can use a variety of ingredients and toppings to make their favorite loaded sweet potato chips version. Use black beans to add some healthy fiber to the snack, corn and chopped bell peppers taste great too or used some scooped avocado and add some sour cream and your favorite sauce- barbecue or chipotle.

Here is an easy recipe you can try at home:
  • Choose one large sweet potato and peel. Cut uniform vertical wedges and put them in cold water for approximately 30 minutes.
  • Make a very thin paste with cornstarch and water and immerse the sweet potato slices in the mixture.
  • Fry over medium flame till golden and remove with a slotted spoon.
  • Drain on absorbent paper and place on a plate.
  • Add some chopped tomatoes, chopped olives, sour cream and coriander. Add sauce of choice for extra taste.
  • Serve immediately.
