8 Fun Games for this Party Season

Its that time of the year for parties and if you are the host you need to plan for some icebreakers to get guests mingle. Especially when they do not know each other well or have not seen each other in a while. So as the guests start pouring in and drinks are making the round, plan some fun adult party games at various intervals to make the evening a memorable one.

Here is a roundup of some of our favorite adult party games which will leave your guests laughing, smiling and spirited this holiday season.

Who’s my match?

This one is a great game when you have a large crowd and want them to mingle. Make sticky labels with the names of famous celebrity couples and mix them up. Stick a label with name on each guests back as they arrive. Now the guest need to find what the label on their back says by asking YES and NO questions to other guests and then find their match in the crowd. To ensure the crowd mingles be sure to tell your guests to ask a person only one question and then move on to the next guest. Once everyone knows who they are and have found their match its time for some impersonation and fun photos.

Statues

As your party starts to gather momentum put on the music and get everyone dancing. Pause the music and switch on the lights to capture some weird photo moments. The first one to move is out and so on, until one person is left.

Forehead Detective

This guessing game is highly recommended for small party groups. Ask the person on your left to write the name of a famous personality on a post-it note and stick it on your forehead. The participants need to ask YES and NO questions to find out who they are.

Pass the Clothes

With the music and spirits flowing and a visibly high spirit among guests, pass a bag of dressing-up clothes (be creative with your imagination) around the circle. When the music stops, the guest needs to take an item with eyes closed from the bag and put it on. Continue until everyone is wearing something laughable.

Pick a Nut

If you need a game to keep your guests entertained just before food is served, pick-a-nut will keep the competitive spirits high as you add your last touches to the food. Empty peanuts into a large plate and hand everyone around the table a straw or chop sticks and a bowl. Set a timer based on how long you need for final food preps and have your guests compete on getting as many nuts into their bowl using the straw or chopstick. The guest with the most nuts is the winner and gets to eat or feed them to spouse with the straw or chopstick.

I Like Cherries!

Place a cherry in a large bowl and explain that the person who can eat the cherry first is the winner but without using their hands. While your guest may think this ones pretty easy, fill the bowl with whipped cream and get ready for some great photo moments.

Hows Yours?

This game is sure to provide loads of laughter. Send one player out of the room. The rest of the group decides on something they all have in common such as a physical possession (car, computer), or body part such as fingers, toe nails or maybe something as abstract as sense of humour. The player sent out is now asked to return and start the game by asking every other player "Hows Yours" The players can answer with one or two words (ambiguous adjectives) but ensure its not too revealing. After having asked all players "hows yours" he/she must guess what the things is.

Two Truths and a lie

Have each of your guest write two truths and a lie about themselves on a piece of paper and put it in a bowl. Now randomly pull them out and read it to the group. The group must guess both, the person and the lie.
