Jamaican Rum Punch

To make an authentic Jamaican Rum Punch you need to follow a 4 part process of sour, sweet, strong and weak. Follow these steps and scale the measurements proportionately to make larger portions.

Step 1 - 1 measure  30 ml of Sour – Lime freshly squeezed
Step 2 - 2 measures 30 ml of sweet – Sugar Syrup/grenadine/strawberry syrup/Cherry syrup
Step 3 - 3 measures 30 ml of Strong – the Rum of your choice.
Step 4 - 4 measures 30 ml of weak – usually means water/juice.

Pour all ingredients over ice and stir.
Garnish with lime or orange slice and sprinkle some freshly grated nutmeg on top

Tips:
  • Use a Jamaican white proof rum for impact. Dark or spiced rum can be used for bolder flavors and for a more subtle milder flavor golden, light or flavored rums can be used.
  • Use water if you are planning to use flavored syrup and flavored rum.
  • If you plan to use juices we recommend passion fruit, mango, orange, pineapple, strawberry or premixed fruit punches for a more tropical twist. Also make sure to check the sweetness to your liking when using juices and accordingly adjust the proportions in step 2.
