The initiative aptly called as "Senorita" focuses on providing safety and comfort to single women guests. We decided to explore more and landed at The Orchid Pune, located at Balewadi on a weekend.
After the check-in formalities that were handled by a woman employee, we moved towards the dedicated Senorita floor assisted by a hostess. Single women guests who request chauffeur services are greeted only by a hotel car. A welcome letter that highlighted the program gave us a quick insight. As we arrived on the floor, we noticed a dedicated reception and assistance desk that ensures quick resolution of any concerns during the stay! A dedicated lady security guard's presence was quiet comforting. The surveillance cameras in the hallway provide round the clock security to the guests.
The spacious rooms are equipped with a video door phone that allows you to screen visitors to your room and quality amenities like a well put together kit is an added highlight. Single women guests can also request anytime housekeeping assistance by a lady attendant.
We stepped down to enjoy the ongoing Rajasthani Festival at the Boulevard restaurant and tried authentic delicacies from the chaat counter with traditional music and a puppet show that kept us entertained. Ker Sangri, Gatta Curry, Kadhi-Khichadi and Daal Batti were washed down with glasses of rose water flavored sweet lassi.
After a quick nap, we explored the fitness centre and stepped into the spa that offers Ayurvedic and other traditional therapies to guests. The hotel has a spacious poolside with a children pool area too. As we walked around we also noticed huge banquet areas, ideal for weddings or business events. We stepped into Merlin's, the bar at the hotel to enjoy a refreshing mocktail as the DJ played foot tapping popular music.
We enjoyed in-room dining services for dinner and tried sumptuous Indian food as the day concluded.
