The Great Wall Review at The Leela Mumbai

The Great Wall- The Leela Mumbai's signature Chinese restaurant has been a favorite among many for its delicious & authentic fare. A launch of a new menu featuring an array of vegetarian and non-vegetarian dishes prepared with fresh ingredients & traditional cooking techniques prompted us to visit the restaurant to try the delicacies on offer.

We settled at a table overlooking the picturesque waterfall & enjoyed a delightful afternoon trying local & international favorites prepared.

We started with Lemon Coriander Soup- a new addition to the menu, served piping hot with delicate hints of lemon & generous sprinkling of coriander. For appetizers we chose chicken & crispy prawn Cheong Fun dim sums. The Cheong Fun dim sums were made with rice flour, steamed to perfection & served with homemade soy sauce. It was easy to pick a favorite- the crispy prawn variant were a great play of texture & taste.

Promfret with bird eye chilli sauce is a good way to try our local favorite fish- promfret stir fried & served with a generous garnish of finely chopped bird eye chillies.

For the main course we tried, Singapore Chilli Crab & paired it with Bao (a type of steamed bun, popular in Chinese cuisine). The Truffle Flavored Treasure Rice went well with Wild Mushrooms in Clay Pot & a great way to end our meal. Wok Fried Tenderloin is another must try. Seared in a wok, the tender juicy meat chunks can be had on its own or paired with one of the rice dishes.

Choose from the à la carte menu or try the four-course set lunch priced at INR 1010/- per person to explore the traditional flavors of Sichuan and Cantonese cuisine at The Great Wall.
