ICICI Lombard crosses a Milestone in Long Term Two Wheeler Insurance Policy

Did you know that there are a whopping 15.2 crore two wheels on Indian roads? Each day these two wheelers maneuver various traffic hazards & yet 60 to 70% of them are uninsured!!! Startling, isn't it? Even when the number of two wheelers involved in road accidents is considerable higher, there are many reasons for not buying/renewing  insurance. Cumbersome process, lengthy paperwork & most of the times, two wheeler owners skip renewals after buying insurance policy after their first year. What if, a comprehensive two wheeler insurance product that actually saves time & encourages savings exists in the market? Would that not be appreciated widely by consumers & reduce the non- renewability rate?

Beautiful Table Settings

One day as we sat surrounded by family & friends at our dinner table, my grandma said "You taste food as much with your eyes as your mouth!" When I quizzed her if she meant about the appearance of food & wine, she explained that she loved the simple way I had set the table & how a table-setting contributes to the overall ambience. Her words stayed with me. I had not paid much attention during that particular dinner but had laid out my best China & arranged some flowers. But I knew I could do more. I started researching a few ideas & was surprised at the inspiration available all around me to "wow" my guests. I started experimenting with quirky tableware, flowers, candles, colorful patterned napkins, glassware, seasonal blooms & voila..... the prettier my table looked , my guests started enjoying dining at my place.

Wicked Spoon Confessions brings to you some beautiful table setting ideas to inspire you....but don't forget to add your personal touch :) Check some more ideas about beautiful centrepieces too!

Since we are almost at the end of the yummy mango season, Wicked Spoon Confessions would like to say adieu to the golden fruit with a step by step recipe of sweet sour mango thokku pickle. Check our more ways to savor mangoes here.

‘Ride to Safety’ an unique road saftey initiative by ICICI Lombard

Many of us have regularly come across news about road accidents in newspapers & online medium. We read about lives lost & serious damages incurred but forget about such news as we move to other matters. But a 2015 report released by Union Transport Ministry that analyzed road accident data shows a rise in road accidents over 2014 with the majority of victims being two-wheeler riders......made us take notice!!! Cumulative numbers of such accidents were excruciatingly high!! With a huge number of two-wheelers involved in road accidents every year due to lack of professional driver training and appropriate road safety behavior it has become a major concern. A report by Ministry of Road Transport and Highways also points that two-wheelers account for around 25% of the total road accidents in the country, the highest amongst all vehicle categories. Even more shocking is the fact that that children are susceptible to road mishaps with 7% road accident victims being below 14 years.

Cooking with Microgreens

Often used as garnishes on dishes in fine dine restaurants, microgreens have become a huge trend everywhere! Till recent times microgreens were basically known as tiny vegetable greens that added visual appeal and enhanced flavors in many dishes of your wonderful kitchen (have a look here for some examples). Apart from their use in adding delicate textures and distinctive flavors to dishes, more & more health experts are advocating the health benefits of these tiny super foods.

A variety of leafy greens such as kale, arugula, beet greens, radish greens, watercress and herbs such as cilantro, basil, parsley, chives an more can be cultivated as microgreens. The taste of microgreens depends on the original vegetable but is strong and concentrated.

Mint Julep Recipe

A mint *julep considered one of the most iconic cocktail in America is traditionally made with four ingredients: mint leaf, bourbon, sugar syrup, and crushed ice. Mint Julep originated in the southern United States, probably during the eighteenth century and traditionally, mint juleps were often served in silver or pewter cups, and held only by the bottom and top edges of the cup.
